Interurban, severely underrated brunch experience.

This Sunday Matt, Dot and I went to brunch, as one does. We hemmed and hawed about where to go and of course I consulted the Google, because it is the knower of all good things. I came across Interurban. Nestled in the heart of the Mississippi district Interurban is an unassuming little bar. From the great people who brought us Prost and Stammtisch I had high expectations and let me tell you it didn’t disappoint.

Offering a fabulous selection of food options ranging from $10-15 a plate Interurban is easy on the wallet.

We arrived at 9:57AM and it opened at 10AM on the dot. There was a small line but it was seat yourself and we found a booth upstairs immediately. The decor gives you the old European feel but with a modern touch keeping the best of old an new. It had dark stained wood, communal style seating with a mixture of booths and larger tables for big groups, stuffed and mounted deer heads and rustic signage. With an an understated modern color palette, lots of windows for sunlight and friendly service Interurban welcomes you the moment you walk through the door.

It took us a while to decide because the menus was quite extensive both for drinks and food.

Ultimately we went with, Eggs Benedict, Campfire Skillet and the Brunch Slider with a coffee each.

We also ordered a small French Toast for the table… it was superb.

I loved that they offered a wide range of menu options so if you’re a vegetarian or have gluten intolerance you won’t starve. Their menu is not complicated but everything is made well. My eggs, potatoes and ham were cooked perfectly. The spices were well balanced and the waiter kept the coffee coming regularly checking on our table enough but not to the point where it was annoying.

They also have this super cool brick wall covered with artwork outside. It made for a great Instagram photo op…. as demonstrated by Dotti.

I recommend getting there early and sitting upstairs, in the corner booth, and I highly recommend the French Toast! Overall I give Interurban Brunch a 5 out of 5 stars! Great service, great atmosphere, great food!
